The day before Friday the 13th
Welp. Walmart during a coronavirus pandemic is actually worse sounding than a double mastectomy on Friday the 13th at this point. New Orleans is a happening place and frantic is their status. Understandable so. But not me. I experienced the most beautiful day with my dearest husband in the most beautiful hospital in the middle of St. Charles Avenue- with the most deliberate and gold standard surgeons in the country. As nerve wracking as it is to be drawn all over and marked up with a blue sharpie marker in preparation for a double mastectomy, lymph node removal and reconstruction during an 8-10 hour surgery, there is obviously some fear, but it is not the main emotion. It’s gratitude. Weird, I know. But truly over all, I know we are supposed to be here in the best of care and God is in all of the details as we have experienced so much already.
We have to get to bed for a really early morning and surgery time of 8am. I have so much I want to write and say, but mostly just thank you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sustaining us with your love, service and prayers. Thank you for loving and caring for my babies, I miss them so much. We are in the best of hands and will be through this before we know it. Until then, check this blog for updates if you’d like.

I love that you took the fiji water/flower picture!! Everything there is so surreal. Gratitude somehow just overcomes all fears because you get there and realize that just how amazing the Breast Center team really is. You feel gratitude from every corner of your heart and it consumes most of your thoughts. It overcomes the fears and you feel strong and ready and peaceful. You are going to do amazing! I am amazed by your strength and faith. You have all my thoughts and prayers today. Love you sweet friend!!
